It all started in 2011, when our Founder, Steven Frost, launched the Best Franchise programme. His vision was to help franchise companies gather confidential feedback from their franchisees and use this to improve engagement and performance. With Lloyds Bank supporting the programme, over 100 franchisors quickly signed up, including McDonald’s, Stanley Black & Decker and O2.
smith+henderson, a research consultancy was born. Many of our clients asked us to mirror their successes measuring and improving franchisee engagement, with their employee base. Through word of mouth, smith+henderson grew to conduct hundreds of employee engagement survey each year, across 21 countries.
In late 2017, we completed our first round of external funding. To better reflect our entrepreneurial spirit, employee engagement expertise and tech focus, we changed our name to WorkBuzz in September 2018. We’ve kept the best bits about smith+henderson – expert advice to help you ask the right questions; the flexibility in our approach and advanced analysis, but now it’s bolstered by best-in-class technology.
